2014 Summer Intensives

Pulse Reading Practicum

Vasant Lad, BAM&S, MASc
June 20 – 26, 2014

Intensive is FullThe pulse is a doorway the physician passes through to reach the inner state of a person’s mental and physical health and well-being. Prana (life force) flows through the nadis from the deepest organs and inner pathways to the skin, revealing under each of the three fingers, the doors leading into this inner world so that one can be in tune with the individual’s prana. Reading the pulse is both an art and a science.

Vasant Lad, BAM&S, MASc, Ayurvedic Physician, gives his unique skill of reading the pulse. Students will apply this simple clinical barometer to their own practice. You will learn the theory behind the levels of the pulse and spend hours of being guided through specific aspects of pulse assessment by Vasant Lad and qualified Institute staff.

This seminar is clinically oriented and directed toward practitioners and students of health disciplines.

Marma Chikitsa

Vasant Lad, BAM&S, MASc
June 27 – July 3, 2014

A marma is a vital energy point accessed on the skin’s surface, serving as a bridge between body, mind, and spirit. Touching a marma point changes the body’s biochemistry and can unfold radical, alchemical changes in one’s makeup. Stimulation of these inner pharmacy pathways signals the body to produce exactly what it needs, including hormones and neurochemicals that heal. Marma is both a diagnostic tool and a simple therapeutic measure to balance the doshas and promote health and well being.

Through lecture and practice, Vasant Lad, BAM&S, MASc, will teach the theory and methodology of affecting marma points through the use of oils, touch, gemstones and color to bring the doshas, tissues, and channels back into balance.

This seminar is clinically oriented and directed toward practitioners and students of health disciplines.
