Ayurvedic Herbology:
The Endocrine System

Vasant Lad, BAM&S, MASc
April 4 – 6, 2014

Click here for PDF flyerThe pituitary gland is the director of the endocrine system. The music of life is played in different time and rhythm by the various endocrine glands. Ayurveda uses herbs to support the supervisor and other glands to promote harmony in the function of the body. When all are working in concert together, the manager communicates easily with the different granthi (glands). Then the body’s music is harmonious and elegant.

The complexity of the body's hormonal function can lead to difficulties that are both mental and physical. Ayurveda can adjust this with the intricacy and grace needed to support such a subtle system.

In this weekend seminar, Vasant Lad, Ayurvedic Physician, will discuss specific herbal protocols for balancing the function of the glands (granthi). We will explore the different parts of the endocrine system, specifically addressing their functions and ways support them when they are in disharmony. Please join us for this refreshing look at a complex system through the ancient eyes of Ayurveda.

Sacred Mantras for Radical Transformation

Vasant Lad, BAM&S, MASc
May 2 – 4, 2014

Click here for PDF flyerAccording to Ayurveda, the five great elements – Ether, Air, Fire, Water, Earth, and three gunas – sattva, rajas and tamas, are the basic constituents of every individual’s body.

The body is made up of space. There is a cellular space, intracellular space, space in the system, and space in the brain. However, we have very little space in our mind. The space of the mind is pre-occupied by judgment, criticism, likes, and dislikes. Because we have so little space, we have less love. Love is space and freedom, just as space is love and freedom.

Mantra is the vibration of etheric space. When we say a mantra, that mantra unfolds the space. Every mantra has a unique space, and that space has definite dimension and shape. In the Sanskrit language, every word is a vibration of sound and every sound has a shape. Therefore, every word has a shape. Mantra is a secret formula that unfolds the space within. The sound of a mantra, for radical transformation, is actually a practical, clinical application of sound for healing the body, mind, and consciousness.
